Media delivery is not the same as a result
Airing logs, impressions, reach and frequency show whether the planned exposure occurred. They do not prove the exposure created revenue. They are essential diagnostic measures, but they must be read alongside business data.
Build a business-response scorecard
Record calls, forms, direct visits, branded search, appointments, qualified leads and sales using consistent definitions before and during the campaign. If a source question is used, train the team to ask it consistently.
- Establish a baseline before launch
- Use dedicated tracking where it does not harm response
- Measure lead quality as well as volume
- Review trends by week and over the full campaign
Allow for lag and assisted response
Some viewers call immediately. Others search the brand later, visit directly, ask someone they trust or respond after multiple exposures. Television often contributes to a path rather than receiving the last recorded click.
Use evidence without false precision
Attribution systems have blind spots: shared households, privacy restrictions, offline sales and cross-device behavior all limit certainty. Make decisions from converging evidence, controlled comparisons where practical and the economics of actual customers—not a single dashboard number.
